noticed this when something is ephemeral it makes it so much easier to start doing especially writing / work / planning when i know something needs to be very “put together” it’s hard to start doing that from scratch but when you know that it’s temporary and just needs initial structure and it’s made to be changed and worked upon later it’s so much easier
realized this when making linear tasks with long descriptions is easier than writing specs for notion task even though both say the same thing, it’s easier on one compared to other and linear task allows for conversations to happen and progress over time notion feels more “put together” and permanent and hence more friction to start doing because we want to “get it right” which slows us down a lot
also felt this when writing
writing on something ephemeral / is bound to get deleted at some point helps you write so much freely and without much friction
and often times it’s actually better output than something which is more permanent
another option to this, is to not give a fuck about how people perceive you / your work and just do the thing because you want to
