the why

  • transferable skill to physics, cs and finance
  • competence inoculation - fights against the brainrot in the world right now
  • epistemic hygiene
  • its fun and it’s like a game; there are levels and very clear metric to know where you are
  • unifies my understanding across physics, cs, philosophy, econ etc; math is the general language
  • modeling, optimization, control, data intuition

in my personal case, my foundations are fucked up because i did not pay attention to anything in highschool, so im gonna spend a solid chunk going through precalc and trigonometry from khan academy before i start with the actual shtuff

khan academy:

  1. trigonometry
  2. precalc
  3. statistics and probability
  4. differential calculus
  5. integral calculus
  6. multivariable calculus
  7. differential equations
  8. linear algebra

then after this ill learn about

  1. real analysis
  2. complex analysis
  3. partial diff eqns
